Happy Manicure Mondays everyone! This entire week, I’ll be saying farewell to summer with one last summer manicure, Boozey Tuesday cocktail, a seafood recipe and more. I found these Sally Hansen I Love Nail Art Pens earlier this season and thought there were perfect for fun, playful and bright, perfect for my last manicure of the season :)
Also, if you haven’t entered yet, my Zoya Entice giveaway ends tomorrow :)
Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Pens in red, turquoise, yellow, and magenta. These pens are perfect for doodling all over your nails. They’re way easier to use than a thin brush and polish.
To get the look, start by paining your nails with a white cream nail polish. Cut tape into triangles and press firmly onto dry nails. Make sure there are no bubbles in the tape, otherwise the ink may get under the tape and not show clear edge.
Using the Sally Hansen I Love Nail Art Pens, scribble horizontally across your nail with each color. Since I was using 4 colors, I made sure each stripe took up about 1/4 of my nail. Make sure the the scribble goes across the tape so that it really forms an edge of color along the tape line. Next, slowly remove the tape while the polish is still wet. If you get some smudges or color that got under any tape bubbles, you can correct this by going back over those places with your white nail polish. After the nail art scribbles are dry, top with a clear coat. Make sure the scribbles are completely dry so that they don’t smear with the top coat brush.
Some tips on using these pens – it takes a while for the tip to fill with color. You’ll need a thick piece of paper and will have to dab the top of the pen on the paper several times to get it all inked up. Also, make sure you put the caps back on immediately. They dry up pretty quickly.
