loving our family christmas card pics with my toddler boy carrying the christmas tree. he makes a great lumberjack!

A yankee and a peach, with our kiddos at the beach! That was the theme of our family beach Christmas card pics this year, and the snow white sand is this Florida girl’s version of “a white Christmas”.

My husband is from Pennsylvania, I’m a Georgia peach, and our kiddos were born in Florida. I thought it would be fun to juxtapose those worlds for our Christmas card pics. I wanted to go for a cold weathered, bundled up at a Christmas tree farm vibe, but in the beautiful white sands of the Florida panhandle beaches. I’d never been to the Emerald Coast this time of year, so little did I know that the water turns into the most crystal clear, vibrant shade of aquamarine I’ve ever seen. It was such a beautiful setting to contrast our “yankees in Florida” campy photo shoot.

Last year, my mom and sis gifted me with a beach maternity photo shoot from the amazing {so fun and so talented} Desiree Gardner. She is a photographer based in Panama City, shoots within the surrounding areas, and will travel. I highly recommend her for your family pics if you are visiting the Florida panhandle. Once we had our beach trip worked out, I gave her a call to see if she could meet up with us for our first photo shoot as a family of four.

Before we hit the road, I knew I needed some campy cold weather apparel so I headed to Old Navy. This is not an ad for Old Navy, but it probably should be since we are all head to toe in their current selections. I knew I could go there and knock out all of our outfits in a single lunch break, and I was right. They had everything I needed. I wanted us to be all neutral, with pops of maroon instead of the usual Christmas red, and coordinating, yet not too matchy-matchy. I think I pulled it off.

Beyond the Christmas tree farm apparel, I also wanted a Christmas tree in the pic. I thought a Christmas tree at the beach with my son as the lumberjack, would be so fun! I found a 3′ tree, strapped it to the top of our car, and off to the beach we went. We met Desiree at Grayton Beach and loved spending time with her again. She is such a pro! I’m shocked she ended up with any pics of my squirmy kiddos, but she ended up with several that were perfect!
