When I was pregnant with John, I somehow opted out of having a baby shower. I made every excuse in the world, because I really don’t like attention, but when my second pregnancy came around, my sister wasn’t having it. She gave me two choices, have a shower in my hometown, or have a shower two hours away at the beach. I had a two year old at home, a husband that travels a lot, and I was very pregnant, so of course I opted for a weekend at the beach. It was a baby shower and vacation combo that was much needed!
When we arrived in Panama City, we had another “I know you don’t like attention, but….” moment. My sister let me know that her and my mom had purchased a maternity photo shoot as my bridal shower gift which was beyond generous. I was already treated to a hotel stay and a beautiful shower, and now they topped it off with a photo shoot as well!!!
I normally don’t like all eyes on me; however, I really don’t have too many pics of myself and I knew I was in amazing hands. My sister used to be a makeup artist and stylist for a photographer, and hired Desirée Gardner, an amazing photographer in the Panama City area… so between the two of them, I was pampered all day! I literally sat in a chair while my sis did my makeup, she brought all of the clothes for the shoot, and Desiree made me feel so comfortable and kept us all laughing! I’m really happy I chose the beach as the shower location because the sunset moments we were able to capture were stunning!
The day was amazing… getting to spend quality time with my mom and sister, getting pampered, enjoying a gorgeous backdrop, and the sound of the ocean waves. I’m so ready to go back! If you are ever in the northwest Florida or Panama City area, I HIGHLY recommend Desirée Gardner photography. You can follow her at Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for more family, wedding, and maternity photo shoot inspiration! I can’t wait to catch up with her again for a “family of four” photo shoot soon!
Funny that I was wearing pink nail polish that weekend, since we had no idea I was having a girl!
