My husband travels often while I’m working full time, blogging, or chasing around our 2 year old, so the last thing we want to do when he’s home is get all dolled up for a night on the town. We would LOVE a date night together, but we’re just too dang exhausted, so it was time we had a little “date night in” with a simple pizza party.
I thought it would be fun to bring the pizzeria to our house, so I turned our dining room into a pizza parlor. I was going for a “sophisticated” summer pizza party vibe, so instead of the typical red and white check decor, I ordered up a few goodies including a navy tablecloth, a pizza peel, a pizza cutter and server, a metal pizza plate, and those cute little parmesan cheese and red pepper glass dispensers that you see at most pizzerias. I even added white wine to the menu for the elegant and summer theme.
We didn’t want to take any chances of waking up John, so instead of making our pizzas from scratch, we baked up the next best thing, DiGiorno pizzeria! thin crust pizzas, an entirely new pizza. I picked up a variety of four so we could sample from each of them including their Primo Pepperoni, Supreme Speciale, Spinach & Mushroom, and my favorite, the Margherita. Thanks to DiGiorno, our date night was easy and SO delicious.
DiGiorno pizzeria pizzas are by far the best “not from scratch” pizza that’s ever entered my oven. Their crust is drizzled with extra-virgin olive oil and bakes up crispy on the outside and soft and airy on the inside. The sauce is specially-crafted from scratch using vine-ripened tomatoes, basil, thyme and oregano and toppings include 100% real cheese, premium meats, vegetables picked at the peak of ripeness and have no artificial flavors, so you’ll only taste delicious ingredients.
