Macadamia Cleansing Conditioner – Shocked That I LOVE!

Macadamia Flawless Cleansing Conditioner Review

Last week, in my IPSY vs. Birchbox post, I mentioned that Birchbox sent me yet another game changing product. Who would have thought that after all these years, I’d ditch my fav shampoo! Not only am I hooked on Macademia’s Flawless Cleansing Conditioner, when I ran out, I went all over town trying to find a new bottle that day, but apparently it’s only sold online at the moment.

Until Birchbox slipped the full-size 3oz bottle into my September box, I was firmly against 2-in-1 products {I believed each product needed it’s very own moment} and I also assumed I needed parabens or surfactants {the bubbly stuff} to get my scalp super clean. Regarding my hair type, I have two conflicting issues and I’ve always been torn on which to treat… I have super damaged dry hair that I dye often, so I always thought a cleansing conditioner would be great for my follicles and keep my color fresher longer; however, my scalp is oily, so I’d opt for a super strong shampoo because I don’t want to wash my hair everyday. I’m sure this shampoo only dries my hair out worse, in addition to stripping my color, which leads to me having to dye more often causing even further damage.

I skeptically applied 3 pumps of the cleansing conditioner to my wet hair, waited a few minutes, and then rinsed. Not only does my hair feel super clean, but it’s also softer than ever! I also noticed that after I dyed my hair and then washed it days later with the cleansing conditioner, that the color was way fresher than after I washed with my old shampoo. This 2-in-1 is also a huge time saver and the tall skinny bottle takes the space of my two fat bottles of shampoo and conditioner that used to reside on my shower shelf! Hallelujah! It’s a little pricey at $15 for a 3oz bottle, and $33 for an 8oz bottle, but it was so worth it to me. I definitely consider this a premium product, and for that, I think it’s a pretty good price!

Have any of you tried a non-surfactant shampoo? What is your hair type and what did you think? Is Macadamia’s Cleansing Conditioner a product you would try?
