Extend Your Evening With Outdoor String Lights

[new_royalslider id=”4″]

Outdoor string lights are quickly taking the place of last year’s garden stools as the hottest trend in home decor. What’s interesting about both, is that they are heavily used indoors and outdoors, garden stools as side tables and outdoor string lights to add a little sparkle and glam to any space.

We have a small deck attached to a screened in porch and hope to add a triangle tarp sun canopy and some outdoor lights above this space. I personally love the casual zig-zag style of hanging these lights! If you don’t have a deck overhang, find a near by tree and string the lights between the branches and your home, or use posts and string lights to outline your porch space. Buy a little extra and wrap it around the trunk of a tree for mega sparkle!

Check out the outdoor string light inspiration above, as well as where to find some of my fav options by shopping the trend below. I picked up a fairly affordable set for Father’s Day at Restoration Hardware {$35 each}. A lot of places are having HUGE “after 4th of July” sales on all outdoor furniture and accessories, so now is a great time to buy!

  • LOVE the outdoor lights! We desperately need to figure out what to do with our outdoor space… this would be awesome!

I’m that girl that leaves my Christmas tree up way too long every year because I LOVE the sparkle, so this trend is definitely for me LOL.

  • I sometimes love this look and I sometimes hate this look. It can look beautiful and romantic but oh it can look SO trashy too! It really does come down to choosing the right lights for your spot and being very deliberate in their display. When they are just thrown out there and wound around trees it can look sloppy and horrible.

you are so right. i definitely prefer to keep it simple and elegant… whimsical rather than sloppy :)
