Welcome to another round {pun intended} of Boozey Tuesdays! Check back every Tuesday all Summer long for a new refreshing cocktail recipe. The R&D for this new series has been so fun! ;)
Today, I have a super tastey ginger beer margarita for you! This is such a fun and fresh new take on the traditional margarita. I’d never tried ginger beer until recently in a Moscow Mule and it’s really good! You can taste the ginger in it, much stronger than in a ginger ale. Like ginger ale, ginger beer is not an actual beer, usually sold near the root beer and soda water in a liquor store or organic food store.
Don’t accidentally buy spiced ginger beer like I did the first time. My second margarita, after another trip to the liquor store, with unspiced ginger beer was much better!
Ingredients
- 1 tsp Agave nectar
- Juice of 2.5 limes
- 10 oz silver tequila
- 36 oz ginger beer
- 2 cups Ice
Instructions
- In a small bowl, stir together the agave nectar and lime juice until the agave nectar dissolves. Add to a pitcher, along with the tequila and ginger beer, and stir well. Add the ice and stir until cold. Serve in highball glasses garnished with lime wheels.
