Polka Dot Burlap Coasters DIY

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I have a SUPER simple diy for you, adorable polka dot burlap coasters, seen above served under my Ginger Beer Margaritas, and below dressing up my Watermelon Plata Tequila rocks glasses!

You’ll need burlap, I picked up 5″ wide burlap garland with a weave that was not too loose, Martha Stewart foam pouncers, white acrylic paint, scissors, and a tape measure. I picked up everything I needed for this DIY at Michael’s.

The burlap is 5″ wide, so I cut each at 5″ deep to make a square coaster.

If your burlap has a hem, and you prefer a frayed edge, use scissors to remove the finished edge.

To fray burlap, simply pull out horizontal strings until you get the fray you like. I went for a 1/2″ fray.

Drop a large blob of acrylic paint on a paper plate. Dip a foam pouncer in the size of your choice into the acrylic paint, work the paint onto the pouncer by dotting around on the plate, and then add the polka dots to the coasters by twisting the pouncer onto the burlap.

Fill in with the smaller foam pouncers if you like a variety of polka dot sizes.

These polka dot burlap coasters were too cute under my Watermelon Plata Tequila rocks glasses. They would also be fun under mason jars at a lemonade party. Enjoy!
