4th Of July Fireworks Nail Art

4thOfJulyManicure2

Happy 4th of July week everyone, and Manicure Mondays, of course ;) I hope you all had a great weekend. I was busy busy busy making manis, recipes, and cocktails for the blog and snapping up photos of each. It’s gonna be another great week here at Fab Fatale :) I hope you’ll keep checking back!

Can you believe the 4th of July is this Friday??? Do you have your holiday manicure planned out yet? I thought it would be fun to do nail art a little different than my previous year’s red, white, and blue manicures {see my stars and stripes American flag 4th of July manicure and my sparklers 4th of July manicure}! This year, I went for silver sparkly stars and fireworks against a midnight blue sky, which was my first attempt at nail art striping tape! Check out my 30 second nail art striping tape how-to video tutorial below!

Fireworks are the highlight of my 4th of July celebrations so I thought it would be fun to create the look for my manicure this year. To get this mani, I used Zoya Sailor, a gorgeous deep navy cream blue nail polish, silver metallic confetti stars, and silver metallic striping tape. I thought the shiny silver striping tape was the perfect pairing for my shiny silver stars that I picked up at Michaels. The confetti stars were a little large, so I had to bend them a bit before applying to get them to lay flat on the curve of my nails. You can pick up the striping tape at Sally’s Beauty Supply if you’re in a hurry like I was, but there are much better deals at Amazon.com.

Your Thoughts?

  • Cute mani! I almost picked up Zoya Sailor this week. I have been drawn to blue polishes over the past year. It’s a sickness, I think.

  • Absolutely love this simple yet creative look … For me, complicated nail art is an overkill so this is great!

I’m so happy you like it, thanks! Have you ever worked with striping tape before? It was a first for me and surprisingly easy. Whatever you do, don’t try to stick it to textured nail polish like PixieDust like I did. That was my first attempt and I thought the tape was terrible before realizing it just doesn’t stick well to textured polishes. Wonder if it will stick well to glitter :/

What kind of top coat do you use? Everything I have ever used does not hold the strips or any other kind of stickers on my nails! Wouldlike some feedback. Thanks!

hi ginny, i used Seche Vita (addicted to this top coat) and it worked really well. i did have to let the polish dry for a minute so that it didn’t smear over the tape. i hope this helps :)
