Happy Manicure Mondays everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! The baby is going through a growth spurt and napping a lot, so I was able to work on a few posts for you all – this nail art mani, a fall soup recipe, and a diy project for my future home office – so it should be a week of fun posts here at Fab Fatale. And really, it was all just a good excuse to play with my new macro lens and tripod that I finally invested in after taking an online photography class last week.
Today, I have a nail art manicure featuring two colors that I saw popping up all over the Fall 2013 runways last February, navy and nude! This is a pretty simple manicure – I started by applying Seche Clear Base coat topped with two layers of Zoya’s Jacqueline, a beautiful nude nail polish. I applied Seche Vite’s Quick Dry top coat and didn’t get back to this mani until a few hours later to make sure that the layers had dried completely and wouldn’t come up with my nail art stickers. You don’t have to sit there for hours while your nails dry, I just wouldn’t apply sticker to them until they have had plenty of time to dry, in particular with a couple of layer of a creme base coat.
Next, I applied Avery’s round all purpose labels to my tips creating a downward curved diagonal by starting high at the inside and then letting the curve fall low towards the outside of my nails. Make sure the labels stick well to prevent polish from getting under any bubbles. I applied two coats of Zoya PIxieDust in Sunshine {see my Zoya Fall 2013 PixieDust Collection swatched and reviewed} to my tips and then removed the labels right away for a clean line. I didn’t add a top coat over this layer because I didn’t want to fill in the texture or add shine to the PixieDust’s sparkly matte finish.
One lucky reader will win Zoya’s Sunshine and Jacqueline by liking FabFatale on Facebook using the RaffleCopter below. Ages 13+ only and international readers are welcome to enter.
What do you all think of my nude and navy nail art manicure? Is this something you would try?
