How To Wear – The Snake Print Trend

Snake Print Top

The thing I love most about outfit posts {definitely not posing LOL} is challenging myself to try new trends. I have a day job that’s business casual, so I tend to buy multi-purpose pieces that won’t go out of style too quickly. With that said, I find myself digging through my closet to no end when I want something a little more stand-out for a fun night out with the girls or a date night with my husband.

I thought it would be fun to get out of my comfort zone with a new “How To Wear” trend series, featuring an of-the-moment piece in each outfit post. First up, I decided to feature the snake print trend, which I personally think is the new leopard, in a collab with my girl Kristin of Bon Bon Rose Girls.

I’m actually workin a few trends in my look above including Joe’s Jeans black zipper booties {purchased at ideeli}, a chiffon overlay snake print top tucked into black fitted shorts, and a splash of Bordeaux, the wine hued color of Fall 2012, as seen in my Kate Landry clutch and Pixi Lip and Line in Bare Berry {picked up in last month’s Birchbox}.

Snake Print Pumps

I hope you’ll check out Kristin’s outfit post, sneak peek above, to see how she mixed the snake print trend with a polka dot top. Do you have any snakeskin in your closet? If so, how do you wear this print?

Fall Fashion Under $150 And A Giveaway

Red Floral Wrap Blouse

Update: And the winner is… Andrea D! Congrats! I will email you shortly to get you set up with the giveaway. This contest is now closed to further entries. Thanks so much to everyone that entered.

Previous: I’m so excited to be a part of Ebates’ Fall Fashion Week. Everyday this week, bloggers including yours truly, will be styling a Fall look for under $150 at Ebates’ blog! This actually turned out to be an easy challenge after all the promo codes I found at Ebates from so many retailers I shop regularly. In addition to the promo code savings, I also get cash back on my purchases! I LOVE earning a commission for shopping my favorite merchants!

My entire outfit revolved around this red floral print wrap blouse. I wanted to style it for a fun night out with some cuffed skinny jeans and the shoe of the moment, ankle wrap platform wedges. I thought these heels looked so Miu Miu, but lacked the designer price tag at only $20. I finished the outfit off with a rhinestone and gold pyramid stretch bracelet, gold hoop earrings, a fun over-sized clutch and a black skinny belt.

To find out how I put this outfit together for under $150 {$136 to be exact}, check out my guest post over at Ebates’ blog! I hope you’ll visit my my oh-so-fashionable bloggin buds that also participated in the $150 Ebates Fall Fashion Week challenge including Tiffany at I Am Style-ish, Kristin from Bon Bon Rose Girls and Kelsey from Style Me Cheaply {look for her outfit tomorrow}!

In addition to sponsoring my outfit post, Ebates is also giving one lucky reader a $150 to go on a shopping spree of her own. If your wardrobe is lacking some Fall essentials, then I hope you’ll enter this giveaway.

Manicure Mondays – Neon and Neutral Nails

Summer isn’t over yet, so I thought I’d celebrate the end of the season with one last neon and neutral manicure. This was such an easy mani. I started with two coats of OPI’s Did You’ear About Van Gogh? and when that dried, I topped it with NYX Neon Pink nail polish using Bundle Monster’s stamp 208. To prevent smearing, wait until the design is mostly dry before adding a top coat.

Get your Fall manis ready because next week, I’m hosting a fun link up and giveaway. All you have to do is add a pic of your favorite fall mani to our link up for a chance to win the Zoya Gloss collection. The manicure must be your own, and can simply be your favorite color for fall, or fun fall nail art.
