Manicure Mondays – Zoya Ornate Holiday Collection

Zoya Ornate Holiday 2012 Swatches

Happy Manicure Mondays! This is the last of my holiday collection swatching for 2012. I hope you’ve enjoyed all of the gorgeous colors that have come our way this holiday season. I think this Zoya Ornate collection and Button London’s holiday collection have been my favs so far!

I loved this Zoya Ornate collection in the bottle, but the colors came to life and got even more exciting when painted on my fingertips. There is definitely something for everyone in this collection. Of a 12-piece collection, there’s usually 2 or so that I would buy, but I’m loving 5 out of the 6 colors swatched below. Read on for my favs, swatches, and a review of Zoya’s Ornate holiday collection.

Zoya Ornate Ziv Swatch

Zoya Ziv is a full coverage, yellow-toned metallic gold foil with silver highlights and warm gold flake glitter accents. I love this gold much more than the others in my collection because, while it is a yellow gold, it leans much more gold than yellow, which I really like. My other yellow golds are too “yellow” and I really love the metallic foil finish. I used two coats for this manicure.

Zoya Ornate Electra Swatch

Zoya Electra is a a micro fine diamond holographic glitter nail polish mixed with large silver holographic bar tinsel in a clear base. Electra can be worn alone, or layered over any polish to add a unique hologram glitter effect. At first stroke, I wished I had layered this over another color, but 3 layers later, I LOVED it on it’s own. I’m not usually a fan of confetti style bar glitters, but this diamond meets confetti glitter will be perfect for New Year’s Eve nails. I’m torn between this polish for a simple New Year’s Eve manicure and nail strips that I’ll feature in next week’s Manicure Mondays.

Zoya Ornate Aurora Swatch

Zoya Aurora is a full coverage, medium sugarplum purple nail polish flecked with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter. I used two layers and although this polish is not a jelly, the layers of glitter look suspended between the layers of the purple base. This multidimension diamond micro glitter polish is similar in formula to Blaze and Storm below.

Zoya Ornate Blaze Swatch

Zoya Blaze my favorite of the entire collection! Blaze is a full coverage, cool-toned medium mulberry red nail polish with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter.

Zoya Ornate Logan Swatch

Zoya Logan is a full coverage, yellow-toned forest green nail polish with dense, foil-like yellow-gold and blue-green duochrome shimmer! Rich color, a sparkling finish and a subtle duochrome effect make this green very special. Pair it with a Zoya Ziv (gold) tip for an extra dash of holiday flare! I’m not a huge fan of greens {with the exception of those light pistachio creme greens that debuted last spring/summer}, in particular metallic or glitter greens, so this color, while gorgeous, isn’t for me.

Zoya Ornate Storm Swatch

Zoya Storm is a full coverage, holiday black nail polish with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter. I thought Storm would be my fav of the Ornate collection; however, it’s a close runner up to my surprise fav, Zoya Blaze.

My Thoughts On Zoya’s Ornate Collection

This entire collection when on so perfectly. The application was exactly what you’d expect from Zoya. While their brushes are on the small side, they were no problem at all because the formula of Zoya’s polish is so easy to apply.

All of the colors in this collection were for me, with the exception of Logan since I’m not a huge fan of greens. I always swatch my favorite bottle color last, as that’s the color that I’ll wear for the rest of the week so while I thought my fav would be Storm, I wish I had swatched Blaze last because it is so fun, beautiful, and seems to glow on your fingertips.

Which colors of this collection are your fav? Have you picked up any colors from this collection or any of the other holiday nail polish collections I’ve swatched?
