Manicure Mondays – OPI Holiday Skyfall Collection

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall Swatch

Update: And the winner is… Tracy C.! Congrats! I will email you shortly to get you set up with the giveaway. This contest is now closed to further entries. Thanks so much to everyone that entered.

Previous: This holiday season, OPI celebrates the 50th Anniversary of a world icon – James Bond – appearing in Skyfall. Inspired by the film’s blend of glamour and danger, OPI launches the Skyfall Collection, featuring twelve limited-edition nail lacquers for Holiday 2012.

“OPI is thrilled to work with EON Productions to celebrate 50 years of the style, swagger and mystique associated with Bond 007,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. From metallic and glitter finishes to jewel tones and even a jet black, these lacquers capture the film’s sophisticated and glamorous look.

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall You Only Live Twice Swatch

You Only Live Twice is a beautiful hot pink raspberry shimmer nail polish.

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall Tomorrow Never Dies Swatch

Tomorrow Never Dies is one of my favorites of the entire collection. It’s an exact shade between purple and blue, showing more blue indoors and purple outdoors. This blue purple metallic polish seems to glow on your nails.

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall The World Is Not Enough Swatch

The World Is Not Enough is a dusty pink gray frost nail polish with a hint of a coppery brown undertone.

OPI Holiday 2012 The Spy Who Loved Me Skyfall Swatch

The Spy Who Loved Me is a bright red shimmer.

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall Moonraker Swatch

Moonraker is the worst formula ever! This polish is a goopey streaky metallic, which is too bad because the gray with a hint of slate blue is such a gorgeous color! I’d picked this to be my favorite until I tried to apply it, which took forever to get the streaks and bald spots out. I’m so bummed about this one.

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall The Living Daylights Swatch

The Living Daylights is a fun confetti polish made up of pink, silver, and blue sequin glitter in a clear base. There was very little glitter per stroke, so I had to place quite a bit of them. I’m kind of ok with that because the clear base was thin and buildable and the colors are so pretty! The colors are dusty and muted, so I thought it would be pretty over Moonraker.

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall Swatch

Skyfall is a beautiful creme maroon nail polish.

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall On Her Majesty's Secret Service Swatch

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is a dusty blue green shimmer nail polish.

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall Live And Let Die Swatch

Live And Let Die is another favorite! This nearly black creme nail polish with a golden green shimmer is so beautiful.

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall Goldeneye Swatch

Goldeneye is a crushed yellow gold mega shimmer and glitter nail polish. This polish dazzles and would look great with a flat color stamped design over it.

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall Die Another Day Swatch

Die Another Day is a red metallic with a hint of a burnt orange undertone.

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall Casino Royale Swatch

Casino Royale is a purple plum creme nail polish.

As with all OPI nail lacquers, these shades inspired by Skyfall contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application.

My Thoughts on OPI’s Holiday Skyfall Collection

This is such a fun collection with something for everyone. With most collections, I can give a general review, but because each polish and formula is so different, I gave notes on each. The application for all polish was flawless and went on well in two coats, with the exception of Moonraker. Of course the wide brush OPI is known for makes application super fast and easy.
