Fourth Of July Nails - 4th of July Manicure Glitter Stars

Happy Manicure Mondays and happy July! I hope you all had a great weekend! Last year, I went all out on the nail art for my Forth of July manicure, so this year, I wanted to do something more simple, yet so so fun! I found this stars glitter polish on Etsy and Amy’s Nail Boutique was nice enough to send me a bottle to swatch for you all. Can you believe I’ve been blogging nail art for 3 years now, yet this is my first Franken polish {home grown brew}?!?!

Liberty is a clear base nail polish with large and small matte red, white and blue glitter, white and blue bar glitter, and blue and shiny silver star glitter. I swatched it over China Glaze Snow in the first pic to show off the red and blue glitter, but I think I like it best over Color Club Wish List red glitter, since that shows off the blue and silver stars best. I used 3 coats to get the amount of glitter shown in the swatches.

So what do you all think of this patriotic glitter mani? Is this something you’d like to try? It’s the perfect mani for the 4th of July and the upcoming Olympics!

I like it! Can’t decide if I like it better over the white or red.

    • jennifer

I cant decide either lol. the white looks more patriotic, but doesnt show the silver stars. there’s no red stars, so I think the red base gets my vote :)

  • LOVE IT!!! I love it best over red. Such a fun glitter polish!

I’m definitely going simple this year too with the Julep America polish :) Since I have interviews through Tuesday, I’ll be decking my nails out on Tuesday night :)

    • jennifer

thanks!!! i love the julep too! I was bummed theirs didn’t have stars in it like the polish they showed on qvc, but i still love it! much easier than our taped mani last year lol. good luck (not that u need it) at ur interviews. lemme know how it goes :)

Try shaking the bottle and stirring it a little, I found a few stars in mine.

      • Brienna

There are stars! You just have to stir them up like Robin said. I actually dug out some of the stars, cleaned them off with acetone, and used them in my 4th mani!

  • Julie

Love it! I wish I’d known about it in time to order it!

    • jennifer

so happy u love it thanks! wish I had discovered it sooner than last week so u all could get a bottle in time. maybe u can stock up for next year ;) ill be wearing it for the olympics too.

  • Mama Mia

Just got my SWISSCO glass file at Sally’s on Friday. LOVE it.
Now I think I want to try your Fourth of July manicure. I believe I’m going for the bold – red it is.

    • jennifer

so happy you like the nail file. hope ull send
me a pic of ur 4th of July mani. :)

  • I made 6 attempts at a 4th of July manicure before completely giving up – love how you kept yours simple & doable! :)

    • jennifer

oh no, u didn’t get any of them to work. nothing frustrates me worse than failed manis lol. i hone my cussing skills when I have to give up on an idea lol. last year I went all out, lots of tape that involved lots of drying between layers, so i went for super easy but fun this year :)

  • Fun! Yesterday I began to re-create your post 4th of July mani and all I have left is to stamp the stars on my blue tips tonight! YAY! Your nail looks are always so classy, thanks for sharing them with us!!!

    • jennifer

no way! that’s awesome! i hope you’ll share a pic when you add the stars. hope you have a happy 4th :)

      • Ask and ye shall receive! :0) I just tweeted it to you also, but here’s the linky: http://t.co/HxhODj93

THANKS SO MUCH for the inspiration!!!

  • You did a beautiful job! I like the glitter that you selected and I think that is what made all the difference! And I think keeping the nails one colour was a better idea than the alternating red and blue I tried! So glad Kim from PPF suggested I take a look at yours!

    • jennifer

im so happy u like it, thanks so much. u know, I actually meant to do alternating colors and didn’t remember until I had a white on every nail lol. thanks for stoppin by and for ur comment :)
