Manicure Mondays - Ruby Tips Stippling Dots Nails

Happy Manicure Mondays! I hope you all had an amazing weekend!

After swatching two collections two weeks in a row, I was eager to do a little nail art so I decided to go for a double-edition of Manicure Mondays today. In the spirit of the Nicole by OPI post I had just finished up, I decided to use a couple of monochromatic {pink on pink} colors from that collection.

My friend Trina taught me how to do nail dots a while back, also known as a stippling manicure, and I haven’t used this technique since my JewelMint inspired Midas Touch manicure. To get this look, I started with a clear base coat followed by two layers of Paparazzi Don’t Preach, a Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor. Next, using the white tool from my manicure dotting tool set, I added one row of dots along the tip of my nails with Nicole by OPI’s Shoot for the Maroon, a beautiful shimmery ruby red nail polish. I liked the single row, but decided to go for gradient tip nails by adding another row using the smaller end of the white dotting tool. Top with a quick dry top coat to seal and add shine.

Dotting Tool Tips – Remove the nail polish brush from the bottle and put a good size blob on a paper plate. Dot the tool in the polish on the plate and then lightly touch onto your nail. The lighter the touch the smaller the dot, so I always start out pressing lightly because you can always press harder if you’d like a larger dot, but you can’t make a larger dot smaller without starting over {obvi lol}.

So what do you all think of my Ruby Tips mani? Is this something you would try?
