April Birchbox Review

My latest addiction is Birchbox, a subscription service that delivers 4-5 premium beauty samples {full size products on occasion} to your door for $10 a month {cancel or skip a month anytime}.

This “beauty delivered to your doorstep” service has become wildly popular for a couple of reasons – 1. you don’t have to waste your money on full-size products to decide if you like them or not and 2. it’s a great way to discover products that you’ve never heard of… you may find yourself obsessing over some of your new finds {check out my Kerastase review coming tomorrow}.

The boxes are customized around a survey you take on your “beauty product” interests and other factors including skin and hair type. It’s fun to swap notes with your friends on the 10th of each month to see what they picked up in their Birchbox, based on their profile, and what products they loved.

When you are ready for more of the products you sampled, you can purchase the full-size versions directly from the Birchbox Shop. They have a generous loyalty program that rewards you every time you shop, refer friends, and give feedback on your monthly samples. You can redeem Birchbox Points on any full-size purchase and most products include free shipping. Birchbox also offers 3, 6, and 12 month gift subscriptions that would be perfect for Mother’s Day on May 13th {I’m getting one for my mom and mother-in-law, so I hope they’re not reading this lol}.

My April Birchbox

The April Birchbox brought things down to earth with wholesome products that take their cues from nature. Take a look at the samples I received below, including the description of each from Birchbox.

  • Marula Oil – This light golden oil sinks in right away to give your skin the supple radiance you’ve been craving. Over the long term, it will firm skin and boost elasticity. Marula oil also has a host of natural healing properties, from soothing redness to fading scars. Finally, it’s great for all skin types {even the most oily} since it helps regulate your skin’s natural moisture levels.
  • Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine – Atelier Cologne’s Orange Sanguine Cologne Absolue is a highly concentrated β€” 15 percent to be exact β€” and distinctive blend that lasts much longer than traditional citrus scents. It has a burst of sweet blood orange and bitter orange laced with heady jasmine and rich sandalwood β€” you won’t be able to stop sniffing your wrist.
  • Yes To Blueberries Brightening Facial Towelettes – Blueberry extracts are rich in high levels of vitamin C to even out your skin tone and defend against free radicals. Antioxidant-rich apple extracts contain mild alpha hydroxy acids to whisk away all traces of makeup and grime, while lemon peel purifies skin.
  • Zoya in Cho – Each Zoya shade goes on opaque with just one coat and lasts 50 percent longer than traditional polishes. And you’ll be glad to hear that the vegan-friendly formulas don’t contain formaldehyde, tuolene, camphor, and other toxic chemicals.
  • Weleda Pomegranate Firming Day Cream – Organic pomegranate seed oil is rich in antioxidants and punicic acid, a compound known to speed up cell renewal. Together with golden millet seed extracts, pomegranate helps increase skin’s firmness and elasticity while shielding it from free radicals. An infusion of organic argan and jojoba seed oils softens skin.

So what do you all think of Birchbox? Does this sound like a service you’d like to try? If you’re a subscriber, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
