ADDICTED!!! I am so in love with Maybelline’s Color Tattoo 24 hour creme eyeshadow. I have never been good at applying eyeshadow with a brush. My shadow always turns out muddy or spotty even with best brushes, the most blendable shadows, and countless YouTube tutorials I’ve watched.

I’ve finally found my eyeshadow fix… Maybelline’s Color Tattoo. I bought these myself and am not affiliated with Maybelline in any way, I’m just that passionate about these creme shadows. They are highly pigmented, very blendable, and so easy to apply. Since this is a long wearing shadow, I really only cared about their everyday colors that I want to last long such as Bad to the Bronze, Tough as Taupe, Bold Gold, and Too Cool. I think the only colors I didn’t pick up were a super bright blue, green, orange, and purple. I feel like these shades are best for a night out, but I don’t need my night out eyeshadow to last as long, so I probably would pick up shadows that are less expensive.

I wore the Color Tattoo Tough as Taupe vs. my powder taupe today and the color was much more smooth, vibrant, and looked perfect all day. I applied a bit to my finger, smudged it starting at my outer corner, and blended it inward on the outer 1/3 of my eye. It made an instant everyday wearable smokey eye. I filled the rest in with a light champagne shimmer shadow and a little Too Cool on the inner corner of my eyes.

All of the colors I picked up were very pigmented except for Too Cool, which is fine since I’d probably only wear a spot of it in my inner corners. The packaging was amazing – heavy glass containers, very comparable to Mac Paint Pots. The price however was much better than Mac Paint Pots at $6.50 each AND, I got them buy one get one half off at CVS. The only con is I wish they had more colors to choose from. The colors I picked up were great for outer corners, with the exception of Too Cool which is great for inner corners, but I’d like more colors for in between.

Have any of you tried Maybelline Color Tattoo creme eyeshadows? If so, what did you think.

I think these are great and have heard a lot of good feedback on them. When I went to get one, the only neutral they had left was Tough as Taupe, and I absolutely love it! I wear it every day, sometimes alone and sometimes with another powder shadow layered over it. It’s beautiful! I can’t believe the price either. I will surely pick up another one at some point…maybe the darker gunmetal one? Would love to see pics of you wearing these.

the Tough as Taupe is by far my fav too :) i checked out Maybelline’s facebook page earlier and it looks like they’re coming out with a few new colors including the gunmetal you mentioned, a silver, and a black, all three of which would make for a beautiful and long lasting smokey eye. im wondering if the color tattoo would smudge less than an eyeliner. im tempted to try some of these out with my eyeliner brush to see how well they stay put. ill see if i cant get a pic of me wearing Tough as Taupe posted soon :)

  2. I JUST got two of them yesterday – Tough Taupe (which I’m wearing right now) and Bold Gold. I love it so far – it was really easy to apply and definitely gives you the smokey eye look without too much effort. I’m terrible at blending – like you, it doesn’t matter how many tutorials I watch. I just can’t get it. I hope they come out with more wearable colors as well – the others were way too bright for me.

im wearing Tough as Taupe right now too. in fact, taupe has been my everyday color for a while now cuz it goes so well with black or browns, all colors really, so this has replaced my taupe shadow for sure. isn’t it so well pigmented and easy to apply? and long wearing – mine looks just as good now as it did this morning when i put it on :)

I want to try these, so thanks for posting a review! So you use your finger for application only?

    • jennifer says:

heeeeeey lindsey! how are you? you are so welcome for the review. yes, i used my finger only. it was very easy to blend, from my outside corner in. if there was a streak then i just patted my finger in that spot to fill it in, but it’s SO much easier and longer lasting than shadow :) if you pick any of these up, i hope you’ll comment back with the colors you get.

I haven’t tried them yet, but those are some pretty killer shades!

heeeeeey kristin, how are you? i am crazy about them. they quickly replaced my everyday eyeshadow. they look better and are easier to apply, saving me a lot of time in the morning :) hope you’re having a great weekend :)

they look super pigmented and pretty! u have me sold!

if you pick any up, i hope you’ll let me know which colors you get. it take a good product to ditch something from my everyday routine and i couldn’t get rid of my powder shadow fast enough lol.

I’ve wanted to try these, I’m a little wary because I’m afraid they’re highly pigmented and I prefer softer colors. Thanks for you review!
