To get this look, I started with my favorite primer, Essie’s Protein Base Coat, followed by one coat of ManGlaze’s Matte is Murder. This polish is perfect in one coat and left no streaks. The picture picked up on a hint of shimmer that I actually don’t see in real life, which is beautiful, but it’s definitely a richer flat black in person – I’m crazy about it.
I let my nails dry for about an hour while I did other things, and then placed an office supply label (these are larger than the reinforcement labels used in my half moon manicure tutorial) near the tip of my nail, with the curve of the label parallel to the end of my nail. Press firmly to make sure there are no bubbles in the label. Also, cut the labels in half so that you can get double the use out of each one. I finished the look off by painting a thin coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat from the edge of the label to the end of my nail and slowly removed the stickers after a few minutes.
